OUR MISSION
The Mission of the Musical Dog Sport Association is to advance the sport of canine freestyle and to share the joy of the canine/human bond achieved through positive training, enhanced by the artistry of music and choreography.
THE ORGANIZATION
Created by freestylers for freestylers, the Musical Dog Sport Association (MDSA) is growing under the guidance of a dedicated group of experienced
individuals eager to promote and develop the sport of Canine Freestyle.
The Musical Dog Sport Association defines Canine Freestyle as a dog sport in which training, teamwork, music and movement combine to create an artistic, choreographed performance highlighting the canine partner in a manner that celebrates the unique qualities of each individual dog. It is built upon the foundation of a positive working relationship of a dog and handler team.
In the realm of dog sports, Canine Freestyle is relatively new. Through these early years its growth has been steady as more people are exposed to the exciting possibilities and challenges it offers.
The Musical Dog Sport Association is proud to continue the tradition of growth and exploration of this new sport. As an organization, we have deep admiration for those farsighted individuals who first opened the door to the possibilities of Freestyle. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to the sport; the members of our advisory board, our list supporters, the pioneers of Canine Freestyle and the founders and members of other Canine Freestyle organizations - past and present. Their vision and contributions have inspired us to take our own bold step in expanding the reach of Canine Freestyle. We look forward to working in harmony with all as we strive towards! our com mon goal to bring the wonder of Canine Freestyle and the joy of the dog and handler bond to even more people.
Finally, we are grateful to the dogs of Freestyle. They are the ones who turn the dreams of Canine Freestyle into reality.
