MDSA Programs

Spirit of Sharing Program

The Spirit of Sharing Program (SOS) is designed to recognize with
appreciation teams using canine freestyle as part of community service
related demonstrations.  Included are visits to hospitals and nursing
homes, educational demonstrations at schools, libraries, or preschools,
performances at humane society fund-raisers, and other such
demonstrations.  Since freestyle brings a smile to everyone who sees the
bond between a dog and handler team, and feels the joy the team is
sharing, it's a wonderful way to brighten the day for others.  The MDSA
wishes to recognize your effort and the happiness you bring to others
through the sharing of our sport.

To participate in the SOS program, you must be a member of the Musical Dog
Sport Association. This is an honor system program; all you need to do is
download the log sheet, fill in your visits, and mail the completed sheet to:

MDSA SOS Program
9211 West Rd #143-104
Houston, TX 77064

Log sheets can be downloaded either from the MDSA website or from the files section of the discussion list.  Signatures or initials of a supervisor are not required although you may include them if you wish. Certificates and awards will be issued for reaching the milestones of 25, 50, 75, 100 visits, etc. Additionally, your team will be recognized for your contribution to the sport of freestyle and your community with mention in The Spotlight.
We invite you to join the SOS program and share the joy of freestyle!

If you have questions or would like more nformation, email Katie Tracanna  at  CharlieSamClaus@aol.com

MDSA Circle of Friends

Group Picture

Feel Alone in the Canine Freestyle World? Why not start a Circle of Friends?

What is a Canine Freestyle Circle of Friends? A Circle is an MDSA affiliation for members to meet and support each other by forming area groups, small or large.

These Circles will be listed on the MDSA website and will be updated periodically. This page will help anyone seeking freestylers in their area. The Circles will be listed by country, state and city along with contact information.

It's easy to form a Canine Freestyle Circle. You only need a minimum of three (3) MDSA members and one Contact person. The listing is free and is a great way to advertise your Circle. In addition you may give a brief description of your Circle (20 words or less) on the comment line.
A listing might look something like this:

TEXAS

Dallas

Top Dog Freestylers

Contact: Pam Martin topdogpam@aol.com

Comments: We offer freestyle demonstrations in and outside of our area. Seminars and ongoing classes are offered indoors. We would love to have you join us in this exciting new venture. If you are interested in starting a MDSA Circle Of Friends in your area, contact MDSA Board member, Pam Martin.
