Heelwork to Music - The Moves
by Richard Curtis

This video is currently unavailable. Richard Curtis is planning to film an updated version of this video. Purchase information will be posted as soon as the new video is stocked.

As the title suggests this video deals with many of the moves that can be used in a Heelwork to music or freestyle routine. Being as this is a new sport in this country, there is a lack of material for new people to enable them to start training.

The video covers all the basic moves and shows how these can be used in a routine. Also, more complex moves are shown with many helpful hints and tips for the beginner. The style and enthusiasm of the presenter will hopefully encourage more people to enter this growing fun sport.

About Richard Curtis

Richard Curtis has been training dogs for nearly twenty years and entered his first Heelwork (heelwork is the UK equivalent to Freestyle) to music competition in 1999 where he won the starters class.

From there he has become a well know trainer, judge and competitor in the sport. He has been requested by the Kennel Club to perform with his dogs in the special events ring at Crufts as well as demonstrating how to start training a dog for this discipline in the Good Citizen ring.

Richard now teaches courses and workshops for clubs throughout the country as the interest in the sport has snowballed in recent years.

Richard has successfully competed at many of the events, for the past few years he has won a class at the prestigious Heelwork to music show held at Coventry each year by Rugby dog training club. Below are just some of the comments judges have written about his performances....

  • A perfect balance of heelwork and innovative moves

  • What a showman!
  • Richard gave a excellent performance, I think he will go far
