Katie TracannaI live on beautiful Cape Cod, where my dogs enjoy swimming at the beach three seasons out of the year. When we're not swimming, you can find us entertaining folks around The Cape as members of a local freestyle group called The Capering Canines of Cape Cod: http://home.comcast.net/~caperingcaninesofcapecod/site/ While all my dogs love to dabble in Canine Musical Freestyle, Sammy (10 years Shepherd Mix) and Wiley Coyote (3 years Shepherd Mix) are my active partners. In addition to freestyle, Sam and I actively volunteer in Pet Therapy thru regular visits to the local nursing homes. Wiley's on the Pet Therapy track practicing with the audience members after our local freestyle demonstrations. It warms your heart when your dog brings a smile to another person. Like most folks, we became intrigued with the sport of freestyle by watching "The Famous Grease" video. At the urging of a local trainer, we headed to Delaware for our first Carolyn Scott Seminar. After that weekend, we were hooked. Since then we continue to soak up freestyle knowledge thru seminars, videos, books and even thru our own demos. This freestyle adventure has proven to be a fun learning experience. I can hardly wait to see where it takes me next!
