Ilona Wright

Ilona has been an obedience instructor for 35 years and has had dogs most of her life. She loves to observe animal behaviour and read anything and everything about dogs that she can get her hands on. She has never been interested in competing, only in training. Canine freestyle gripped her because she saw moves she had no idea how to teach and finally found something really interesting and technically challenging.

Iona (with the help of others) is in the process of developing a freestyle database which is supposed to end up as the A-Z in Canine Freestyle, encorporating known moves and how to teach them, how to choreograph and much more.

Her sensitive 7 year Tervuren, Max has enabled her to learn much about helping a dog overcome fears. He gives her great joy and when he is dancing with her the 'oneness' experienced can only be understood by another freestyler.
